    Poker Night

    Poker Night

It wasn’t until last year that I even heard of Texas Hold’em. I wasn’t a big poker fan. I didn’t really understand the game, or knew how it was played. I thought only “party-college guys” and “biker guys” played poker. I am not either.

But since last year, I’ve played 4 games (including last night). First game, I came 3rd out 10 breaking even money wise. Second game, I came 1st out of 5 winning $60 or so. Third game, I lost $20. Last night, I got the best cards I’ve ever seen anyone play – and won $100. I can see how this game can get addictive. There were much better poker players at the table last night then me. But, I learned that I would rather be a below-average poker player (like me) with really good cards, then a really good poker player with below-average cards.

Thought: What web site offers people the ability to subscribe to my blog? Why would anyone care?

  • VoIP

We got VoIP (Voice Over IP/Internet) at home now. Its a lot cheaper than what we’re paying for phone service here (Alltel has a monopoly), and you get a ton of other features included. Lingo (http://www.lingo.com) is the provider that we went with. It’s only $22-$23 bucks a month for unlimited local and long-distance.

It was some what of a pain since we have dsl, though. We had to switch to business-class RoadRunner (http://www.rr.com) since we required a static IP. However, we are now uploading (serving up our websites) up at 512Kbps, and downloading (mostly .mp3’s) 😉 at 5Mbps.

    Start Working Out

I need to start working out. I just can’t seem to part with $60-$70 a month. I know some people may pay more. My friend Bill pays more. I hope to work with Sports Courts (http://www.sportscourts.com) and help them with their web site stuff – – this way they can get good web site service, and I can get access to use their gym. I met with them today. I hope to hear from them soon.

Thought: Why doesn’t Blogger have categories? Wouldn’t it be nice to seperate each blog into categories. Oh well.
